Amy Key
Amy’s interest in yoga began more than 20 years ago while she was working as an oncology and breast cancer research nurse at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. As she began her career as a registered nurse, Amy quickly discovered a need to balance the demands of cancer care with a channel for stress reduction. After locating a studio near downtown Dallas, yoga proved to be the perfect answer.
Amy explored many studios around the metroplex, and journeyed deeper into her yoga practice through sessions with numerous private instructors and yoga retreats including one at Arizona’s Miraval. Amy found her community at TSYR. Here, she has fully engaged her passion for yoga, and with the encouragement and direction of Rebecca Butler, decided to take a leap and become an instructor. In December 2018, after 200 hours of teacher training, she achieved her goal. She has also completed trainings with Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee. She is inspired by the wealth of knowledge available through Rebecca Butler at TSYR
Amy is a loving and devoted mom to her two teenage boys, Ethan and Bryce, and a strong life partner to her husband, Bryan. Fun will never escape Amy as she fully embraces the opportunity for getaways with girlfriends to help balance the high levels of testosterone at her house. Her life is centered around family and friends, her family fur babies, Gigi & Griffen, and her passion for yoga & pursuit of health and wellness.
Amy’s classes incorporate an energetic yet lighthearted vibe. She curates fun & eclectic playlists that keep the flow groovin’ all the way to savasana.
